Discard wont be as important in this strategy as will cards like Kit Cloudkicker that are capable of bouncing low cost characters, as well as the strong Evasive three-cost Basil

The only drawback is that SR Charizard ex can be somewhat predictable, as it needs to use Stoke before it can go on the offensive

We could stretch our sources and make it work, but "the villain that appeared four times in the 1990s" (looking at you Faade and Coldheart!) isn't the most compelling Magic card
